Our Community & Atmosphere
Session Details
Our Ladies' sessions are a cornerstone of the Mornington Peninsula Badminton community.
We take pride in offering a space that is as much about social connection as it is about sport. Whether you are a former player returning to the court after many years, a fitness enthusiast looking for a new challenge, or a complete beginner who has never picked up a racquet, you will find a warm welcome here.
These sessions are run by our dedicated team of feamle volunteers who believe that sport should be accessible and inclusive. We focus on creating a 'low-pressure' atmosphere where you can learn the game at your own pace, improve your fitness, and share a laugh with a fantastic group of local women. It’s the perfect way to break up your week, get moving, and become part of a growing community of players.
-
We host our dedicated Thursday ladies' play every Thursday at Frankston South Community & Recreation Centre.
Time: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM.
The Play: We utilise a social rotation system. This means you’ll get to play with various partners throughout the morning, ensuring a great mix of games and the opportunity to meet everyone in the group.
-
As a volunteer-run social club, we prioritize affordability to ensure all women in our community can participate.
Session Fee: $14 per session (Covers court hire and shuttles).
Try Before You Buy: Newcomers are more than welcome to attend a session or two before committing to a full MPB Membership.
Payment: Simply check in and pay at the desk when you arrive.
-
We provide the high-quality shuttles; you just need the basics to get started:
Racquet: Bring your own, or if you're just starting out, chat with a volunteer about borrowing a club racquet.
Footwear: Non-marking court shoes are essential to protect our specialized playing surface.
Comfort: Wear standard sports attire and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated!

Your First Session
Nervous About Joining? Don’t Be!
We know that walking into a sports hall for the first time can be intimidating, but we’ve made the process as simple as possible. There is no need for formal pre-registration. We recommend arriving about 10 minutes before the session starts to introduce yourself to our Session Coordinator or any Committee Member.
Our volunteers will walk you through how the morning works, introduce you to a few of the regular players, and make sure you’re placed in a doubles pairing that matches your current comfort level. We have a diverse range of ages and abilities, so you will never feel out of place. Our goal is to ensure you leave the court feeling energized and looking forward to the next week.
