Feathered Friends is run by women for women and is aimed at all levels of skills and fitness, beginners through to returning players and all ages – you only need to be female to attend.

Feathered Friends

Founded on the principles of the This Girl Can Campaign our Feathered Friends program is welcoming and inclusive for all women. Players can participate regularly or casually without any commitment. Our ladies often take a break together and enjoy a cuppa and cake from the centre café.

Learn the game, have fun, and get active with Feathered Friends Social Ladies Badminton in Somerville! No Booking Required, just turn up!

  • Stay hydrated: Bring a water bottle.
    Casual attire: Wear comfy clothes and runners.

  • Equipment provided: Loan racquet & shuttlecocks.

    Free and optional coaching/mentoring by a registered Club Coach. Offered to ladies throughout the year.

    Somerville Recreation Centre has occasional care available for children.

The fees are very reasonable and you can pay weekly. We all help one another to improve our skills, there is lots of laughs and I feel very relaxed. The equipment is free and in excellent condition. I enjoy badminton as it’s a very sociable sport.
