Mission Statement
Mornington Peninsula Badminton Inc. is a 100% volunteer-led not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to promoting physical health, mental wellbeing, and social cohesion through the sport of badminton. Our mission is to provide an inclusive, accessible, and safe environment where residents of all ages, skill levels, and cultural backgrounds can connect, learn, and thrive.
As a proud affiliate of Badminton Victoria, we are managed by a dedicated committee of local volunteers who serve the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula regions by delivering high-impact community programs. Our core activities include:
Social Inclusion & Diversity: We act as a vital community hub for multicultural integration, specifically supporting our large Malayalee Indian member base and international students from local secondary colleges.
Empowering Women: Through our dedicated "Feathered Friends" initiative and senior ladies' competitions, we provide safe, women-only spaces that combat social isolation and support the mental health of senior women and widows in our community.
Youth Development & Mentoring: We provide a low-pressure alternative to mainstream contact sports, offering "Player-to-Coach" leadership pathways for introverted or shy youth to build confidence and vocational skills.
Equitable Access: We are committed to removing financial and physical barriers to participation by offering low-cost sessions and providing equipment to those in need, ensuring that fitness and friendship remain accessible to all.
At Mornington Peninsula Badminton Inc., our vision is to utilise a shared passion for the shuttlecock and racquet to build a stronger, healthier, and more connected local family. By operating as volunteer organisation, we ensure that our resources are focused entirely on enhancing the quality of life for all Frankston and Peninsula residents.
