A friendly and social mixed competition to test and improve your game against a variety of players. Teams are formed to match abilities with four seasons running during the year, with medals presented to competition winners and runners up each season.

At MPB, we believe competition should be as much about community as it is about the score. Our team competitions are designed to bring players together, offering a structured way to improve your skills, meet new partners, and enjoy the thrill of the game.

Run by our dedicated committee of volunteers, our leagues focus on fair play, spirit, and—most importantly—having a great time on the court.

Our competitions are designed for players who enjoy a regular, structured game.
- Format: Doubles (any gender).
- Skill Levels: Multiple divisions ranging from Beginner/Intermediate to Advanced.
- Season Duration: Typically 9 weeks of round-robin play, followed by a final.
- Awards: Medals are proudly awarded to both Winners and Runners-up of each division.
To maintain balanced teams and a great atmosphere, we have a specific process for new competitive players:
1. Join Social First: We ask all prospective players to attend our Social Badminton Sessions first.
2. Meet the Team: Make yourself known to a Committee Member during social play. This allows us to grade your skill level and find the right division for you.
3. Opportunities: While seasons are often full, we may have openings between seasons or the opportunity to join our "Fill-in List" to cover players who are away or unwell.
4. Team Entry: If you wish to enter a full team, please discuss this directly with a Committee Member.
As a volunteer-run social club, we work hard to keep competition fees as low as possible.
- Advance Payment: To assist with our club administration, all competition fees must be paid in full at the start of the season.
- What’s Included: Fees cover court hire and the provision of high-quality shuttles for every match.
- Membership: You must be an active MPB Member to participate in our seasonal leagues.
- Equipment: We provide the shuttles! You just need to bring your racquet and ensure you are wearing non-marking court shoes.
