Working with Children Check (WWCC) Policy
SUmmARY
Mornington Peninsula Badminton Inc. (MPB) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful environment for all junior players. In accordance with the Victorian Child Safe Standards (Ministerial Order 1359) and the Worker Screening Act 2020, we maintain a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse.
Key Requirements of this Policy:
Mandatory Screening: All staff, coaches, committee members, and volunteers in "child-related roles" must hold a valid Working with Children Check.
Recruitment Rigour: We employ a strict screening process, including formal interviews and reference checks for all personnel working with minors.
Organisation Linking: All personnel must link their WWCC to Mornington Peninsula Badminton Inc. via Service Victoria to ensure the club is notified of any status changes.
Ongoing Monitoring: The club maintains a secure, private register of all checks, which is audited quarterly to ensure no personnel work with an expired or invalid card.
Enforcement: Failure to maintain a valid, verified WWCC will result in immediate suspension from all club duties involving children.
This policy ensures that our club remains compliant with Victorian law and provides the highest standard of protection for our young athletes.
